REFINING - CATALYTIC REFORMER

Catalytic Reformers convert sweetened Naphtha with low octane ratings into high octane rating Reformate. This is done by “reforming” the straight chain feed molecules into branched and cyclic molecules. process includes:

  • The feedstock is mixed with Hydrogen, then pressurized and heated.

  • This mixture is sent to a series of reactors containing a catalyst (usually platinum), where the reforming takes place.

  • The products of this process is high-octane Reformate and Hydrogen-rich gas (due to dehydrogenation of straight-chain molecules)

TechStar Analyzer Solutions can assist your Catalytic Reformers with:

  • Monitor BTU of Plant Gas
  • Minimize amount of light Hydrocarbons in Reactor Feed
  • Maximize conversion by keeping H2 as pure as practical
  • Minimize losses of Reformate
  • Feed stock to Gasoline Blending
  • Maintain O2 below 8% to stay below flammability level
  • Combustion Flue Gas Analysis for Safety, Efficiency, Throughput and Emissions Control
